The Frighteners Goofs/Mistakes

Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): (At 1:40:38) When Frank and Lucy are hidden behind the shelf from Patricia, a wire can be spotted on the back of her dress, as she run past the screen to the left.
Movie Goof (continuity error): Director Peter Jackson makes his cameo appearance as the pierced punk, and then disappears between shots.
Movie Goof (revealing mistake): A squib can be seen on Frank's arm when Dammers shoots him.
Movie Goof (continuity error): After Frank crashes through Ray's fence, he deliberately backs out over a garden gnome, crushing its head. In the next shot, Ray is holding the intact head while screaming at Frank.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Frank is in the freezer just before he "dies" he is shown from above and has on shoes. After Dammers takes Lucy and Frank's spirit leaves his body the same downward shot has him with no shoes visible.
Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Frank is recognized by the wealthy woman in the big house, the newspaper she holds, misspells "Psychic" as "Psycic."
Movie Goof (incorrectly regarded as a mistake): Ray's ghost runs past a sign saying "Lytleton Liquor." Lytleton, New Zealand is playing fictitious Fairwater, California. We can say that within the movie, Lytleton is the name of the store, not the town.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Milton Dammers screams, "I'm wearing a lead breastplate!" and rips open his shirt, his tie is hanging nearly straight down. When we cut back to him, his tie is tossed over his shoulder, while both of his hands are still holding his shirt open.
Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): When the bed starts shaking with Lucy on it the lifting and shaking equipment under the bed is clearly visible.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Lucy is freezing Frank down, the dial she turns is color-coded light blue to dark blue (cold to colder). Moments later, when Dammers turns up, the dial is on a previously non-existent red setting.
Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Bartlett refers to Ukrainian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo as "the Russian cannibal creep."
Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): When Ray hits the possessed doll with a pillow, the stand used to hold it up is clearly visible.
Movie Goof (incorrectly regarded as a mistake): When Frank goes to the Lynskey house he said it was 'spontaneous recurrent psychokinesis', but when he goes to another case he calls it 'recurrent spontaneous psychokinesis'. Since he's a con man, he has no use for consistency.
Movie Goof (continuity error): During the scene in the museum the two guards fire at least 45 shots from their automatic pistols without reloading.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Frank reaches over to pull Ray out of the grave, workers are shoveling dirt into the hole, but as Frank pulls Ray out, there is no one near the grave.
Movie Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): When Ray and Lucy are walking Frank out of their home, we hear the sound of Frank's toy gun being used when it is actually not. Also at that same moment we hear the sound of shoes on a hard floor when Ray and Lucy are wearing socks and walking on carpet.
Movie Goof (continuity error): Frank's breakfast cereal changes from multi-colored Lucky Charms to bluish-purple Boo Berry between shots. Both boxes can be seen in the background.
