Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • 600 Asian extras were used during the LA filming days for the street scenes.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Sean is first given the red Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, his numerous collisions while practicing around the harbor tear off the rear spoiler. As he starts practicing on the hills, the EVO is first seen without the spoiler, but on the first shot of him driving uphill, the spoiler is on the trunk. Subsequent shots show the EVO without the spoiler.
  • One of the cars never before seen on American TV or Film is the Toyota Chaser, a Camry-sized sedan which is powered by a 2.5 liter in-line six twin turbo that also powers the Japanese version of the Lexus SC300/400, which is called the Toyota Soarer and the Japanese version of the GS300/400 the Toyota Aristo. It is also the same engine used in the 87-92 model Toyota Supra.
  • SPOILER: The events in the film take place AFTER the events of Fast & Furious. Sung Kang plays Han in this film , Vin Diesel later shows up in a cameo in the final scene claiming to have "rolled with" Han. The opening scene of Fast & Furious shows the two working side by side until Han has to go his own way and go to Tokyo. Both films are directed by Justin Lin.
