The Devil's Rejects

The Devil's Rejects Goofs/Mistakes

  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Otis and Baby are driving to the motel, on the dashboard there is a closed box of cigarettes, yet in the next shot they are open.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Otis, Spaulding, and Baby leave the Firefly home as it's burning down, the Cadillac has a rear-view mirror. Later on the road and as they drive up to the road-block it's gone.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Otis, Baby and Spaulding are riding in the car toward the road block, after the incident with officer Wydell, there is blood all over the car, except not on the lower part by baby's leg where she was shot previously.
  • Movie Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): When Otis shoots Adam Banjo, the gun shot is silenced, but the gun clearly doesn't have a silencer on it.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When storming the Firefly house, Sheriff Wydell is loading a Remington 1100 shotgun (a semiautomatic), but when he is shown from behind firing upon the house he is clearly using a Remington 870 (a pump action shotgun).
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Mother Firefly is showing Sheriff Wydell the next book from the pile, before she takes it, the book on the table is closed. But when she takes the next one off the pile, it is open.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): During her rant in a jail cell, Mother Firefly is seen holding her hands far apart for emphasis when her hands are supposed to be handcuffed with only about a foot of chain.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): After Sheriff Wydell kills Charlie, he completely smashes out the windshield on Charlie's Cadillac with the ax, where Baby is hiding. At the climatic ending, the windshield is intact and untouched.
  • Movie Goof (anachronisms): During Sheriff Wydell's meeting with Rondo and Billy Ray at Billy Ray's trailer. As Sheriff Wydell walks away, Rondo is seen wearing a baggy style of pants that did not exist in the late 1970s.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Wendy Banjo escapes the hotel room she knocks on room 2 for help. Earlier they show Jimmy entering room 2 where they were being held.
  • Movie Goof (factual errors): The Chevrolet K5 Blazer that Wydell Drives is an '86 Model, but according to surroundings and other tell tale signs, the movie takes place in 1978. This can be proven when Officer Ray Mentions that Groucho Marx and Elvis Presley "died last year".
  • Movie Goof (revealing mistake): When Otis and Baby steal the car from the waitress, who is about to get stabbed by Otis, the blood bag can clearly be seen on the waitress' back as she's leaning down to help Baby. The shot is even freeze-framed.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Candy is talking to her boss, he puts the money in the box and it changes position, and then even disappears in one shot.
  • Movie Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): When Otis is sitting in the chair in the motel, his dialogue is out of synch with his mouth
  • Movie Goof (factual errors): Two of the officers storming the house at the beginning of the movie are firing M-16's, which fire a .223. The armor the Fireflies wore would likely not have provided sufficient protection at the ranges the officers fired from.
  • Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): SPOILER: When Sheriff Wydell is trying to kill Baby, you can see the cameraman's shadow on his back.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): SPOILER: When Sheriff Wydell hammers the nail through Otis's hand, at first the nail has gone through nearly all the way, but in the second shot it is sticking half way out.
  • Movie Goof (revealing mistake): SPOILER: After the sheriff is killed, you can clearly see him breathing in a long shot.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): SPOILER: When Tiny is helping Baby stand up after rescuing her from the Sheriff, she uses the leg that had just been shot to stand. The pain would have prevented this.
