Rookie cop Amelia Donaghy reluctantly teams with Lincoln Rhyme -- formerly the department's top homicide detective but now paralyzed as a result of a spinal injury -- to catch a grisly serial killer dubbed The Bone Collector. The murderer's special signature is to leave tantalizing clues based on the grim remains of his crimes.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

Movie Goof (revealing mistake): When the murderer is to turn the steam-pipe he just unbolts the valve flange and then push it to turn it. this is impossible to do, besides you can see the pipe elbow is bolted on the pipe that continuing out of the picture.
DIRCAMEO(Phillip Noyce): a man browsing through books in the bookstore that Angelina Jolie enters.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When the detective's car is about to enter the abandoned slaughter house compound, and as seen from the front, the lights are turned off. You then see the car, from the rear, pull up just inside the compound with the rear lights on. The detectives get out of the car and turn the lights off.
Movie Goof (continuity error): In the very beginning of the movie, when Alan Rubin and his wife are waiting for a cab, Rubin is clearly holding a brief case, but in all subsequent shots the briefcase is missing.
