• At one filming location in Winnipeg there was a playground behind the set. Robin Williams spent some time amusing the kids, telling jokes and autographing everything from movies to children's shoes.
• Movie Goof (revealing mistake): When Paul Barnell discovers the body in the dumpster he says, "911" and proceeds to dial three digits and you hear ringing. The tones the buttons make on the cell phone as the digits are pressed are actually "123".
• Movie Goof (continuity error): When Raymond Barnell is kneeling at the end, his gun moves different distances from him in different cuts (not including when it is kicked away).
• Movie Goof (continuity error): Toward the end, a beat-up Ted leaves the house to go to the secret meeting. He comes right back in to ask his girlfriend to come with him and you can see that his eye make-up has changed.
