- Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Nelson is lying in the middle of the baseball field after getting the 'beef stew', he starts to get up, but once Gus and Clark reach him in the next shot he is still lying on the ground.
- Movie Goof (anachronisms): Reggie Jackson was born in 1946. For he and Mel to have been tuba camp together, it would have to have happened in the early 1960's. The photo depicts hairstyles and clothing more suited for the 1970's. Also, this would make Mel a person who should be in his late 50's or just turning 60. His character is far young then that in the film.
- CAMEO(Charles Dugan): Marty, Richie's boss at the video store, is director Dennis Dugan's father.
- Movie Goof (continuity error): when Marcus is hiding in his 'castle,' he is seen through the window of his tower and then closes the windows of the tower. In the next shot, we are viewing his reactions through the open windows of the tower.
