  • Movie Goof (factual errors): Considering Italy's tough gun laws, it is hard to believe he could receive a weapon through the mail or a package service.
  • Movie Goof (factual errors): When Jack pours mercury into a bullet it accumulates on top. It should run of the sides because mercury is fluid between -38.83 and 356.73 Celsius (-37.89 and 674.11 Fahrenheit). At room temperature it would be as fluid as water.
  • When Jack is eating dinner with the priest, music from Madama Butterfly is playing in the background. Mathilde and Clara's nickname for Jack is Mr. Butterfly.
  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In the scene where Jack and Mathilde arrive at the river to test the rifle and silencer, when asked about the velocity, Jack states "360 miles per hour." Muzzle velocities are measured in feet (or meters) per second, not mph. Also Jack says the rifle is a "Ruger M-14." Actually, it is a Mini-14, firing a different caliber than a real M-14, a much larger and heavier rifle.
