Super Size Me

"The first ever reality-based movie ... everything begins and ends in 30 days!"

Morgan Spurlock subjects himself to a diet based only on McDonald's fast food three times a day for thirty days without exercising to try to prove why so many Americans are fat or obese. He submits himself to a complete check-up by three doctors, comparing his weight along the way, resulting in a scary conclusion.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

→ View All
  • Movie Goof (revealing mistake): Near the end, when Morgan Spurlock says, "Why not do away with your Super Size options?" the water condensation runs up the drink.
  • Morgan Spurlock shot 250 hours of footage. About 0.66% of this footage appears in the final cut.
  • Morgan Spurlock got the idea for the documentary when he was lying on his couch at his family's house shortly after Thanksgiving dinner, watching TV when he saw the news about two teenage girls suing McDonald's for making them obese.
  • Movie Goof (incorrectly regarded as a mistake): Although a calorie is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree Celsius, a food Calorie is actually a kilocalorie (aka "kilogram calorie" or "large calorie"), so the nutrition expert's definition is correct in this context.
