Movie Goof (continuity error): After Della Frye abandons the phone call from McAffrey during the night, she throws her mobile phone onto the night stand. The phone changes its position twice during the subsequent shots.
Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): SPOILER: At the end of the film, Cal lets Della hit ''Send,'' ostensibly sending the day's lead story direct to the composing room without anyone else editing the copy. This could never happen at a major metropolitan newspaper. Someone else, an editor, would have to scan the copy for misspellings, typos, etc.
Movie Goof (continuity error): Before Della runs after Cal in one of the office scenes near the end, she is wearing the pen necklace he gave her. It was shown that she just got up and ran after him, but the next time we see her she is not wearing the pen necklace.
