Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • The writer, Angela Pell, has an autistic son. Many of Linda's idiosyncrasies are those of Pell's own son.
  • Movie Goof (errors in geography): In the beginning of the movie Alex exits the restaurant. In the window it says White River. He is driving to Winnipeg which is west of White River. Yet Vivianne has a sign that says Wawa. That means he would be heading east back to Wawa instead of west to Winnipeg.
  • Angela Pell stated at the Berlinale Press Conference, that she wrote the role of Alex Hughes with Alan Rickman in mind. The character's name in the script was "Alan", and it was Rickman who suggested the change to Alex.
  • Movie Goof (errors in geography): At the end of the film when Alex is driving to Winnipeg, he's actually going back into Wawa, therefore heading east and not west.
