"Something wonderful has happened... No. 5 is alive!"

After a lightning bolt zaps a robot named Number 5, the lovable machine starts to think he's human and escapes the lab. Hot on his trail is his designer, Newton, who hopes to get to Number 5 before the military does. In the meantime, a spunky animal lover mistakes the robot for an alien and takes him in, teaching her new guest about life on Earth.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): On both front fenders of Stephanie's van, "Parties Catered" is misspelled. Perhaps Stephanie made the mistake herself or the filmmakers just didn't notice it, but sure enough, the van says "Partys Catered".
The robots are designed very similar to the large fighting machines in the future battle scenes in The Terminator.
Movie Goof (factual errors): Stephanie shows Number 5 the sun in the morning. However, they are looking west over the Pacific Ocean, so they are watching the sun setting not rising.
When Number Five commandeered Ben and the Nova guard's truck, he hums the U.S. Marines anthem.
