  • In the scene where Chris Perez (played by Jon Seda) first appears, the close up of his hands playing the guitar are in fact the hands of the real Chris Perez (IV).
  • Salma Hayek was considered for the role of Selena, but she refused because she wanted to play Frida Khalo (in Frida) and did not wish to play two different Mexican heroines.
