  • Although Jasmine the Lion is frequently said to be old and weary, Taureg, who played Jasmine, was a young lioness, less than two years old (lions in captivity can live up to 20-22 years). This is stated in the DVD special features.
  • The ending was re-shot due to negative test-screening feedback. The re-shot cost $600,000. The original ending will be available on the DVD.
  • Movie Goof (anachronisms): During the long shots around the uncle's house, there are modern day water towers on the horizon.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Walter drapes the blanket on Hub before waking him from his sleepwalking, the blanket changes position several times between shots while Hub talks to Walter.
