  • Frank Windsor is credited as Gen. Washington in the end titles but is not seen in the film.
  • Movie Goof (anachronisms): When Tom Dobbs (Al Pacino) joins the army, he is greeted with "welcome to the United States Army". The army was actually known as the Continental Army at that time as Washington and his revolutionaries had no way of knowing that Canada would fail to be won in the War Of Independence.
  • Movie Goof (plot holes): Tom Dobb comments that Daisy McConnahay has given up everything to be there with the revolutionary army, yet she has never told him so. How could he know?
  • Movie Goof (factual errors): By the time of Valley Forge, Washington's Continental Army was in such a bad state that most men did not even have shoes or boots, yet no-one in the Valley Forge scenes is barefoot.
