The band members of the Genetic Opera are wearing masks because originally the film was only allowed to have 20 extras.
Many people believe the song 'Largo's Little Helpers' is the song with Luigi and his gophers but in reality it is a GeneCo advertisement featuring Orphans talking about Rotti Largo. The song with Luigi and his gophers is really a continuation of the song 'Genterns'.
The song "I Didn't Know I'd Love You So Much" was originally a lullaby composer Darren Smith (VI) sang to his son.
The entire set was built on one sound stage.
