Fran Kranz auditioned for the role of Aidan.
Movie Goof (anachronisms): The movie takes place in summer 2001, but in one scene, there is a Ford cargo van that did not come out until 2009, and in another scene, a brand new Mercedes S-class.
The role of Ally was difficult to cast, and it took forever to find 'Emile de Ravin'. The main problem with Emilie was the difference between her height (5 ft 2) and Robert Pattinson's (6 ft 1).
Movie Goof (continuity error): During the scene in which Tyler (Pattinson) storms into Charles' (Brosnan) office, in one shot Charles' suit jacket is unbuttoned to become buttoned up in a couple of shots.
