Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (anachronisms): The sunglasses that Coach wears are Ray-Bans, as you can see by the logo painted on the lens as he takes Radio home. But Ray-Ban did not start putting the logo on the lenses until the late-'80s.
  • Movie Goof (anachronisms): Early in the film, during 1976, Radio is seen riding a shopping cart down the highway. The cart then veers off the road and hits a guardrail. The guardrail shown has an extruder terminal on the end, a highway safety device that wasn't available for nearly 20 more years.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Coach Jones goes to Radio's house after he's arrested and brings him food he's shown with two fries in his hand, in the wide shot, as coach Jones tells him he did a good thing. The next close up, Radio is pictured with only one French fry in his hand.
  • Movie Goof (anachronisms): The footballs used throughout the movie have a gold "Spalding" logo on them. While common today, gold logos were not used in any major level of football before the early '90s, when Wilson put a gold imprint on its NFL balls.
