Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • The movie brought in US$2.7 million dollars the opening weekend and gaining a total of US$15 million all around not exactly a blockbuster but not bad for a particularly low budget movie.
  • George Strait almost turned down this movie role in fear that it would put his career in jeopardy. George later said a few years after the filming was over that at one time he felt the kind of burnout his character did when he was doing 250 dates a year but it was never so bad that he would ever just walk away from it all.
  • Movie Goof (errors in geography): In the first scene of the movie the tour bus is shown leaving one city and arriving at another. The city in both shots is Ft. Worth, Texas.
  • The title track of the movie "Heartland" had to be rewritten many times to fit George Strait it was originally a really hard rocking song and the name of it originally was "Pure Country" hence came the title of the movie.
