• Movie Goof (continuity error): When Brad and Johnny are arguing about the "impossible" shot at the end, the position of the chalk on the table changes between shots.
• There were no camera tricks or special film editing used for any of the billiards shots in the film, although many of the special "trick shots" (other than the one above) were performed by billiards legend 'Robert LeBlanc', who appears as professional "Bobby LeBlanc" in the film.
• Rod Steiger's last film.
• Movie Goof (anachronisms): In the beginning of the film, the letter from the pro tour had an 888 number to call. Later the moves states "15 years later" to bring it to the present. There were no 888 numbers 15 years ago.
