Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Brandi and Detective Harrison are having sex in his car, Detective Harrison repeatedly says the name Mandy instead of Brandi.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Ronnie is cornered by the crack heads, the actor playing the second-to-last man he strikes with the baton changes between shots. In one shot, he is an African-American in a gray shirt. In the shot in which he is struck, he is clearly a Caucasian wearing the same clothes with gray hair and facial hair.
  • Warner Bros. was concerned about the dark subject matter and demanded the production team come up with a "lighter, softer" version of the film. It wasn't until test audiences gave the edited version poorer test scores than the original version that Warner Bros. let them release the film in its original form.
  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Ronnie gets offered crack by the young kid at the crossroads, he said that he was offered a schedule I narcotic. Crack is not a narcotic; it is a stimulant. A narcotic is a substance that causes morphine-like effects by relieving pain and inducing sleep.
