When Longfellow Deeds, a small-town pizzeria owner and poet, inherits $40 billion from his deceased uncle, he quickly begins rolling in a different kind of dough. Moving to the big city, Deeds finds himself besieged by opportunists all gunning for their piece of the pie. Babe, a television tabloid reporter, poses as an innocent small-town girl to do an exposé on Deeds.

  • Movie Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): SPOILER: At the end of the movie in the conference room, Emilio Lopez is announced the major stockholder in Blake Media. After Emilio fires Chuck Cedar, you hear Chuck exclaim, "You can't fire me!" However, Chuck's lips aren't moving to the words.
  • Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): Reflected in the large mirror while Deeds is enjoying his breakfast with Emilio.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Deeds is in the mansion and everyone is shouting (the echo scene), the elevator man is standing behind him, wearing white gloves, which disappear for one shot.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): The cat that Babe is holding (the one Deeds saved from the burning building) disappears and reappears between shots.
