Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Fanny is caught in the rainstorm, outside the Crawford home, she announces to Mary that she is picking apples to bring to Mrs. Norris. The problem is, the tree she is under isn't an apple tree.
The white dressing gown with gold trim Victoria Hamilton (Maria Bertram) wears while speaking with Sir Thomas is the same costume Emma Pierson (Fanny Dorrit) wears while brushing Amy's hair in Little Dorrit (UK).
The production company apparently left behind the flock of doves released at the end of Henry Crawford's fireworks display (filmed in Charlestown, Cornwall). For more than eight years after filming was completed, the birds survived thanks to the efforts of a local woman who feared they would perish, due to having to compete with gulls for food.
The gold day dress with yellow overdress Sheila Gish (Mrs. Norris) wears when Tom returns is the same costume Janine Duvitski (Mrs. Meagles) wears in the final scene in Little Dorrit (UK).
