Angelina Jolie and Edward Burns sizzle in this romantic comedy about making choices, making friends and making a mess. Lanie (Jolie) is a beautiful, ambitious newscaster who thinks that having the perfect hair, perfect boyfriend and perfect apartment adds up to the perfect life, until an encounter with a street psychic throws her world into chaos.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

The filmmakers used the KOMO-TV studios in Seattle as sets - altering the logo to "KQMO-TV" - and many KOMO personalities make cameo appearances, among them Dan Lewis, Margo Myers (II), and Steve Pool.
Movie Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): When Lainie tells her father she got the job in New York and he shows her all the videotapes he has of her. When she uses the remote to start the tape, the audio starts before the video does.
Movie Goof (errors in geography): When Lanie is in New York, she is told by the network guy that her live interview will be on at 8 a.m. When the morning show starts, the male host welcomes "all the viewers from the West Coast for this special live broadcast." Presumably, they are doing that because Lanie is from Seattle. During the interview, we see her sister and brother-in-law watching it in a sunny room in their mansion. Eight in the morning in New York is five in the morning in Seattle; the sun would not yet be up, especially in early autumn, when the movie takes place.
Mark Feuerstein had been in talks to play Cal Cooper, but Christian Kane ended up playing him.
