Kick-Ass

"Shut Up. Kick-Ass."

Dave Lizewski, an average teenager, wonders why no one has ever decided to become a real-life superhero like the heroes in the comic books. After being mugged while a bystander watches and does nothing, he decides to become a real-life superhero. He buys a scuba suit online and becomes a masked crime fighter, despite the fact he has no superpowers or training of any kind.

  • Movie Goof (plot holes): SPOILER: During the live "Unmasking of Kick-Ass" webcast, kerosene is splashed all over the floor beneath Big Daddy and Kick-Ass's chairs. But when the kerosene under Big Daddy's chair is lit, the fire remains localized and doesn't spread.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): SPOILER: When Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl land on a roof before they unmask themselves, Hit-Girl has knuckledusters on both hands when they are in the air. As soon as they land, both knuckledusters are gone.
  • According to Mark Millar, the "C-word" moment in issue three of the comic ultimately convinced Matthew Vaughn that it was a worthy project.
  • Movie Goof (revealing mistake): When Dave uses his MacBook, the Apple logo isn't lit up, even thought the computer is supposed to be switched on and in use.
