• Movie Goof (continuity error): When David teleports to the school library while his father is trying to open the door, his father closes the bedroom door when he leaves. When David teleports back to the room, the bedroom door is open, and David closes it again.
• Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): In a wide, high-angle establishing shot of the Colosseum, a film crew, camera, and dolly tracks are clearly visible on a nearby street.
• Eminem reportedly turned down an offer to star in the lead role. But an MTV report quoted director Doug Liman saying that his plan to have Eminem in the movie was dropped right after he met Hayden Christensen.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): When David waits for Millie at the airport, his t-shirt has three small holes in the upper chest. During the next scene, at his girlfriend's apartment, the holes in his t-shirt have gone.
