• Movie Goof (continuity error): When everyone has to get off the bus, Minxie gets up, but in the next shot she's sitting down.
• According to writer/director Victor Salva the inspiration for the character of Jack Taggart Sr. was Captain Ahab in Moby Dick. At one point Taggart was even suppose to quote Ahab ("from hell's heart I stab thee") in his showdown with The Creeper. The line was cut from the film though.
• Movie Goof (revealing mistake): When the creeper is trying to remove the javelin that he was stabbed in the head with, you can clearly see that the piece of pole attached to his head is stationary. The ends he is holding on to are just sliding back and forth, making it seem like he is sliding the entire pole trying to remove it.
• Victor Salva says in his director's commentary that he nearly cut the scene were The Creeper 'flirts' with the teens on the bus, feeling that it might be too comical for the film. He was later glad that he didn't as it was a favorite scene with the screening audiences.
