Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (boom mic visible): When the kids tell Dante and Randal that they heard about their wedding, a boom mic can be seen in the reflection of the Nails Cigarette kiosk behind them. It can be seen moving back and forth to pick up Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson's dialogue.
  • When Jay and Bob are walking along the Miramax lot, in the background, men in black suits and a man in a copsuit walk along, with one of the men in black suits bleeding from the stomach- a reference to Reservoir Dogs. one of the original titles for clerks was register dogs.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Jay and Silent Bob are running from the security guards from the "Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season" set, Jay has his yellow jacket tied around his waist. But in the next shoot, where they are in the "Scream" set with Shannen Doherty, Jay has his yellow jacket on.
  • The fictitious website "Movie Poop Shoot" is a major plot point. Movie Poop Shoot existed as an actual website before the film's release. An obvious parody of film websites, the site contained inflammatory posts toward "Bluntman and Chronic Strike Back" which were later read in the movie (including the immortal "Fuck Jay and Silent Bob, fuck them up their stupid asses"). The thread ends with Jay's "You are the ones who are the ball-lickers." The false site also served as the home of the internet-only trailers for the film. Movie Poop Shoot has recently been converted into a bona fide website, containing news and columns about movies, comic books, and music.
