• Many different types of dogs can be seen in the film: Lenny is a Bullmastiff, Georgia is a Boston Terrier, Cooper is a English Bulldog, Shep is a Border Collie, Romeo is a Chinese Crested Dog, Juliet is a Poodle and Henry is a Beauceron.
• The birds flying past the camera from behind at 04:04 were added digitally (mentioned in the commentary).
• Movie Goof (continuity error): After taking dogs from an Animal Control truck, Mark, Andi, Bruce, Dave and Heather are shown at 48:41 in the alley by the hotel walking abreast toward the camera with dogs in their arms and on leashes. There are 8 cuts (9 shots) from 48:41 to 48:52 with many changes the specific dog(s) each kid controls and with Mark switching from the left side of the screen to the right and then back.
• The actors found the film particularly challenging to shoot due to the dog trainers constantly jumping, whistling and shouting instructions to the dogs just outside the frame.
