Hot Rod Goofs/Mistakes

Movie Goof (continuity error): During the scene when Rod and Denise first kiss, Rod has his helmet on and it is strapped. Before they kiss, Rod takes off the helmet and the strap isn't strapped anymore.
Movie Goof (continuity error): Rod's dolphin necklace changes position when he is lying down after having been given CPR by Denise.
Movie Goof (continuity error): Right before Rod goes down the hill on his wheeled sled, Denise's hands alternate between being in her back pockets and hanging by her sides in different shots.
Movie Goof (errors in geography): During the scene where all four of the Hot Rod team is marching down the street and the large crowd forms behind them, you can clearly see a Canadian RCMP car parked at the building in the immediate background. About 5-10 seconds later when it cuts back to the same shot, it has disappeared mysteriously. According to the story, this film takes place in the US state of Washington.
Movie Goof (continuity error): While Rod's movie is playing in the auditorium, they show the part when he first jumps the milk truck in the beginning of the movie. The angle that it shows is the same angle from the beginning. But Rods half brother was actually filming from the other side.
Movie Goof (continuity error): In the scene before Rod attempts to jump the pool, he is talking to Denise and there appears to be a towel next to the ramp. However, when he gets to the top of the ramp the towel is missing.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Rod is asking out the cashier, a drink appears between them when they show Rod, and then disappears.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Rod comes home to find that Frank is sick, Kevin is shown hugging Frank on the couch and his shirt is partly untucked from his pants. The next shot shows Kevin with his shirt entirely tucked in.
Movie Goof (continuity error): After Rod falls down the hill, when he is telling the crew that they are going to raise money to save Frank's life, Dave has a mug which changes from his hands to the table between shots.
Movie Goof (errors in geography): The film is supposed to take place in Washington state, but a Canadian bus from British Columbia Transit appears in the film.
Movie Goof (continuity error): After Rod and Denise are at the lake and Rod is walking in his house with a hamper, he is wearing boxer-briefs. Then, when he walks into Kevin's room he is wearing pants.
Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): After the riot Rico is seen carrying a television set, even while running. In the next scene Rico still has the TV, but when they stop to discuss what happened he isn't carrying it anymore.
Movie Goof (continuity error): In the scene where Rod is coming from doing his laundry he has on white boxers but immediately after in his brother's room he is seen wearing blue shorts.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Rod is about to jump the pool, he waves at Denise and you can see a ring on his hand that is not present anywhere else during the movie.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Rod introduces the Frank Fund, Denise's back is shown. She is wearing a top with spaghetti straps. In the next shot and for the rest of the scene she is wearing a t-shirt.
Movie Goof (errors in geography): A Canadian MAXIMUM 30 speed limit sign (their's say MAXIMUM in place of SPEED LIMIT) appears clearly in the scene where Rod does his luge down the hill. The movie is supposed to take place in Washington state.
Movie Goof (continuity error): Near the closing of the movie, when Rod is seen growing a mustache of his own, the facial hair itself changes in length throughout the next few scenes.
