One day, Horton the elephant hears a cry from help coming from a speck of dust. Even though he can't see anyone on the speck, he decides to help it. As it turns out, the speck of dust is home to the Whos, who live in their city of Whoville. Horton agrees to help protect the Whos and their home

Movie Trivia/Goofs

Movie Goof (continuity error): At breakfast, when it's Jojo's turn with his dad, 12 seconds start on the clock, but when the mayor starts showing Jojo all the perks about being mayor, the clock goes back to 12 seconds left when it should be at 5 seconds left.
When Horton is turning his ears into different hats, one of the hats is one worn by Bartholomew Cubbins in the Dr Seuss book "500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins".
Morton the mouse, who isn't in the original book, is actually named after the baby elephant/bird creature, Morton, from "Horton Hatches the Egg."
When the Mayor is showing Jojo the portraits of their family the last one of caveman who is painted on a set, evidenced by the lights at the top and creatures hanging from the ceiling by string.
