The complicated life and controversial suicide of George Reeves is investigated by a fictional private detective who finds that there are reasons to suspect that Reeves may not have killed himself after all. The detective also finds that there is a little of George Reeves in himself, and maybe, each of us.

Movie Goof (anachronisms): In the scene where Simo buys the newspaper from the stand, there is a red Corvette parked in front of it carrying chrome 5-spoke Cragar rims. The earliest street rim Cragar produced that looked like this, the Cragar S/S, was not released to the public until 1964.
Benicio Del Toro was signed on to play the detective, but pulled out of the project due to other commitments.
Ben Affleck wears a pinkie ring and smokes with a cigarette holder in the film, just as George Reeves did in real life.
Movie Goof (factual errors): In the scene when Helen Bessolo visits the George Reeves' home, the studio rep repeatedly refers to the studio where The Adventures of Superman was produced as RKO Pathe. The studio at the time of the events was known as RKO General and had exited the production business in 1957.
