  • SPOILER: The onions that Stanley and Zero eat towards the end of the movie are actually apples wrapped in an edible cover.
  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): SPOILER: Mr. Sir says that if one gets bitten by the yellow-spotted lizard, you die slowly. When Kate Barlow gets bitten, she dies almost instantly.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Stanley steals Mr Sir's truck and turns the ignition, Mr Sir turns towards the truck quickly, and begins to move towards it. In the next shot, we see him facing away for a second, then turns his head to the truck again.
  • Both the book and the movie mention that Clyde "Sweet Feet" Livingston had hit four triples in a baseball game. In fact, the Major League record is three.
