Failed hockey player-turned-golf whiz Happy Gilmore -- whose unconventional approach and antics on the grass courts the ire of rival Shooter McGavin -- is determined to win a PGA tournament so he can save his granny's house with the prize money. Meanwhile, an attractive tour publicist tries to soften Happy's image.

Movie Goof (continuity error): When Bob Barker is punching Happy, his glove is seen on his right hind. When he oversees Happy as he is in the water, the glove is on his left hand.
Movie Goof (continuity error): At the hockey try-outs, the coaches are shown standing behind the glass right after Happy shatters it with his slap shot.
Movie Goof (continuity error): During the first hole of the Waterberry Open, Happy's ball moves from the back to the front of the green.
Movie Goof (factual errors): SPOILER: During the final round of the Tour Championship, Happy is forced to hit the ball, despite the TV tower laying across the green. Even if play were allowed to continue, the tower would either be moved, or Gilmore would get free relief.
