Groundhog Day

Movie (1993)

"He's having the worst day of his life... over, and over..."

A comedy about an egocentric and sinister television weather reporter with a bad case of Deja-Vu. The weather reporter, Bill Murray, is sent to the famous Groundhog Day tradition in the small town of Punxsutawney were he unwillingly has to report on a little more than he expected. Let's just say he had to do a few retakes of the report.

  • Since the film's release, the town of Punxatawney has now become a major tourist attraction.
  • The song that greets Bill Murray every morning - "I've Got You Babe" by Sonny and Cher - was in Danny Rubin's original script from the very beginning.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): As Phil is walking toward the town plaza and he rounds the corner and passes by the old beggar, a number of shops can be seen over his shoulder to the right of the screen. This scene is repeated many times in the movie, and sometimes there are flags flying over the shops, while other times there are none.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): As Phil opens the door to leave the Bed and Breakfast on the second morning he has no gloves on and his scarf is outside his coat. As he exits the Bed and Breakfast he is still holding the coffee but now has gloves on and his scarf is neatly tucked in his coat.
