  • When J.P. is telling Mr. Cheezle about Demonik (2006) (VG), Mr. Cheezle tells him it's "very Miyamoto." He's making a reference to Shigeru Miyamoto, a ground-breaking and award-winning game designer for Nintendo who created Super Mario Bros. (1985) (VG), Donkey Kong (1981) (VG), The Hyrule fantasy: Zeruda no densetsu (1986) (VG) and many more.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Alex originally flips the tray of food after removing it from the oven, he spills the food all over the oven door. The camera pans out to him in pain and goes back to the oven and the oven door is spotless.
  • Alex is driving such a pile of garbage car because the production was running low on money when it came time to get a car for his character.
  • Movie Goof (plot holes): SPOILER: Near the end of the movie JP steals Alex's game 'Demonic' and tries to claim it as his own. After 3 years of being the sole programmer of a game on his own personal computer, as Alex claimed to have done, he would've had considerable evidence to prove he was the original programmer.
