• Movie Goof (errors in geography): SPOILER: Nearing the end of the Movie, Patrick and Angie are driving north to what we presume is New Hampshire (where Jack Doyle has his retirement home). However, they seem to drive right by a sign that reads "Entering Milford" - this is a Massachusetts town marker sign (NH doesn't use these) and Milford Massachusetts is nowhere near the NH border.
• Those are real local Boston actors and members of the local populace in all the backgrounds. Ben Affleck made a deliberate choice not to cast professional extras for authenticity.
• Movie Goof (errors in geography): When Patrick and Angela meet Detectives Brassant and Poole for the first time in the diner, they are going over the rap sheet for Roberta Trent. She had some charges in Lawrence and Lowell where the ZIP codes were listed 02114, which is the ZIP code for Boston. Lawrence and Lowell's ZIP codes start with 01 (i.e 01843)
• The brothers Affleck had previously worked together as actors on Good Will Hunting, Chasing Amy and 200 Cigarettes.
