Movie (1998)

"Size does matter."

When a freighter is viciously attacked in the Pacific Ocean, a team of experts -- including biologist Niko Tatopoulos and scientists Elsie Chapman and Mendel Craven -- concludes that an oversized reptile is the culprit. • 2.4 million gallons (~321,000 cubic feet), of water was used to create rain for the film.
  • Movie Goof (errors in geography): During the final taxi chase sequence we see Godzilla run by a Carl's Jr. billboard. All Carl's Jr. franchises in New York are called Hardee's, revealing that the scene was shot in L.A.
  • Movie Goof (factual errors): In the cockpit, we see that the machine guns fire in pairs; Apache's only have one automatic cannon. Also, from an outside view, we can see the fired rounds coming from the wings; the Apache's gun is mounted underneath the nose.
  • At the 1998 Golden Raspberry Awards, the film was nominated for five Razzies, including Worst Picture, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay. It took home two overall for Maria Pitillo as Worst Supporting Actress and for the film as Worst Remake or Sequel.
