Movie Trivia/Goofs

→ View All
  • Despite the fact that this was filmed in the standard spherical format, "Filmed in Panavision" is listed in the end credits.
  • Sound designer 'Andrew M. Somers' created the sound of Flubber by using a rubber balloon filled with water, Metamucil, and air. The Metamucil became "gloopy" and in the balloon, it helped make a rubbery, gurgly sound. The voice of Flubber was performed by Scott Martin Gershin, and was processed to raise the pitch to sound small and squeaky.
  • Movie Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): When Wesson and Smith are in Brainard's basement trying to steal the Flubber, Smith says something to Wesson and Wesson replies, "What?" But Wesson's lips aren't moving when he says this.
  • Wil Wheaton was cast because he resembles Tommy Kirk who was in The AbsentMinded Professor (1961).
