Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (incorrectly regarded as a mistake): When Alex's grandfather asks Alex and Jonathan to leave, Jonathan immediately leaves, even though Alex has not translated the request into English. This, however, was most likely a creative choice to show the power and emotion of Alex's grandfather's words.
  • Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): In one scene when they are driving, you can see the car which is carrying the film/sound crew, over the grandfather's shoulder.
  • CAMEO(Jonathan Safran Foer, the author of the novel on which the movie is based): appears as the leaf blower at the beginning of the film.
  • Eugene Hutz's band Gogol Bordello appears as the polka band that greets Elijah Wood at the train station.
