Elephant is a Gus Van Sant film depicting the story of a high school just before and after a massive shooting. The film is shot in a way that makes the viewer seem like they are there, in the high school, slowly walking around witnessing ever characters story unfold. The film won the Palme d’Or and Best Director at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival.

  • Movie Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): The shot guy's (Nate's) blood is too high on the door in a later scene when Benny comes to that room to help the girl (Acadia).
  • Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): At the beginning of the film, when John tells his dad that he wants to take over driving he walks over to the drivers side of the car. When he opens the door to get his dad out, 2 members of the crew can be seen in the reflection of the wing mirror.
  • When Elias thanks the punk couple, the actors give him their real first names (Wolfgang and Caroline).
  • Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): As Michelle is show pushing a trolley of books in the library over to a shelf just after the photographer walks in, you can see the yellow and white tape markings on the floor that indicate where she is supposed to stop the trolley and were she is to stand to stack the shelf.
