Les, a small-time celebrity photographer desperate to make it big, befriends Toby, a homeless young man with no direction except a vague desire to become an actor. When by chance Toby becomes romantically involved with K'Harma Leeds, the hottest pop star of the moment, Les grows jealous and plots revenge.

Movie Goof (revealing mistake): When Les makes a camera gun he loads it with a bullet that already has a primer that has been struck by a firing pin.
Movie Goof (revealing mistake): Microphone being used by the MTV interviewer backstage at the awards was not a wireless mic. Just a cheap "wired" mic without a cable.
Movie Goof (continuity error): After Les throws the toothpicks at Toby one toothpick sticks to Toby's shirt. It appears and disappears during their ensuing argument.
Movie Goof (continuity error): In the jacuzzi scene with Toby and K'Harma, watch Toby's left arm. K'Harma's right foot is resting on his left shoulder. In the back-and-forth head shots, we see Toby's left arm go from straight out (where we can see his "mother" tattoo) to down and submerged and back again.
