• Movie Goof (incorrectly regarded as a mistake): While contact with the sun gave Lionel scars, and Edward gets exposed to the sun much longer than him receiving no scars in the process, this is probably because Edward's exposure is controlled using a small mirrored reflection of sunlight, with the fire being immediately extinguished, as well as him being soaked in water to begin with.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): Near the end of the movie, when Frank drives the Firebird into the lobby of the building to save his brother, there should be at least some minor damage and scratching to the front of the car. A few minutes later, when the survivors are driving away in the Firebird, the camera pans right over the front of the car and it is in pristine condition, appearing as if it had just been cleaned and polished.
• The makers of the movie hosted a contest in Worth1000.com (famous photo manipulation-contest site) to come up with images of how the world would look if nearly everyone were a vampire.
• Movie Goof (factual errors): In the very first scene there is a shot of a calendar that displays April 2019. On the calendar April 1st falls on a Tuesday. This is incorrect. In 2019, the first of April will fall on a Monday.
