Another evil threatens to conquer the world, as Conan journeys on a search to find a magic crystal before the sorceror Toth Amon can use it. He is also required to rescue the Princess Jehnna for the treacherous Queen Taramis who plans to betray Conan and rule the world.

Movie Goof (continuity error): In the ravine just after they get the Horn, Conan's dagger is visible, despite being lost in a previous scene.
The part of Malak was originally assigned to David L. Lander. Due to both his deteriorating health from the onset of Multiple Sclerosis, and difficulties with the director, Lander was let go, and the part was recast with Tracey Walter.
Wilt Chamberlain's first and only film role.
Movie Goof (continuity error): During the fight between Conan and Man Ape, Conan gets four bloody scratches on his arms, but there was no showing of Man Ape scratching his arms.
