Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (continuity error): SPOILER: After they win the Bayhill Tournament Championship game, player #25 shakes Coach Carter's hand first. In the reverse angle, player #25 is back in line to shake his hand again.
  • The speech given by Timo Cruz in response to the question "What is your deepest fear?" is an excerpt from "A Return to Love" (1992) by Marianne Williamson. (Commonly misattributed to Nelson Mandela's 1994 Inaugural Address.)
  • Movie Goof (anachronisms): The sports reporter at the game in the beginning of the movie refers to a opposing player as the "Next LeBron James." LeBron James would not have even been in high school when the movie takes place.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): During the game against St. Francis, when Richmond is making their comeback, one play they get a steal and make a lay-up. During the play Timo Cruz is seen on the court in the game. The camera then switches to the bench and clearly shows Timo sitting down clapping.
