  • Abbie Cornish was the first actress to audition for the part, and waited one month to hear that she got it.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): In the scene where Abigail is showing off her new baby to the Brawnes, Brown goes to talk to Fanny in the next room. During this scene, Abigail comes in holding her baby, its head rested in one crook of her arm. In the next shot when she turns and leaves, the baby has flipped so its head is on the opposite side of her.
  • The film shot for one day in Rome. Keats' funeral procession was the last scene to be filmed and the only scene of the film not shot in the UK.
  • French visa # 123588.
