Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (continuity error): On the cover of USA Today it shows a picture of Monty Brewster in front of a podium with his "None of the Above" slogan. The article was to highlight the Yankees exhibition game, and before Brewster had decided to start his mayoral campaign.
  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Monty runs for mayor of NYC, the lawyers say that he is running TV ads in all 52 States. There are only 50 States in the USA.
  • Movie Goof (plot holes): Using the "upside-down airplane" stamp to mail a postcard was, in fact, a violation of the terms of the will. Brewster was expressly forbidden to destroy anything with intrinsic value. He didn't destroy the stamp itself, but he did depreciate its value from $1.25 million to less than 25 cents.
  • As a nod to 48 Hrs., the bookie who lays down all the bets for Richard Pryor wears the exact same suit that _Eddie Murphy (I)_ also wore.
