  • The older woman who accuses David Spade of playing "pocket pool" is ''Gypsy Spheeris, mother of director Penelope Spheeris.
  • As of 2009, this was the last film Toby Scott Ganger ever starred in.
  • During the opening gubernatorial campaign speech by Al Donnely, he says the line "if I got the same welcome everywhere I went that I got here in my home town, my candidacy would be a lock," adding a large emphasis the word 'lock'. The democratic front runner for governor in Washington State at the time of filming was Gary Locke (D), who went on to win the seat. This may have been an intentional nod to the democratic candidate by the filmmakers.
  • Chris Farley uses the same football play with the kids at the youth center - "32 belly option" - as he did when he and 'Rob Lowe (I)' went cow-tipping in Tommy Boy.
