  • On 17 June 1999, crews filming in the brand new San Francisco City Hall building set off the sprinkler system, flooding hallways, causing serious damage, and angering San Francisco mayor Willie Brown.
  • Despite the fact that this was filmed in the standard spherical format, "Filmed in Panavision" is listed in the end credits.
  • The female robot, Galatea, is named after the statue brought to life by the gods in the Pygmalion myth.
  • Movie Goof (plot holes): There are several apparent violations of various of the three laws of robotics, some of which can be resolved by careful reasoning, some of which cannot. All the violations serve the drama and only bother you if you think about them too much. So don't.
