• Movie Goof (factual errors): In the courtroom at the beginning of the trial, they say "The County of Harrison". They don't have counties in Louisiana. They have Parrishes. Shreveport is in Caddo Parrish.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): When Nicholas is released from prison, he gets into a police car from the right door. Yet when he is shown in the news after released, he gets into the police car from the left door.
• Movie Goof (factual errors): At the end of the trial, a reporter said the DA announced he would seek the death penalty. In fact, the DA would have had to serve notice prior to the trial that he was going to seek the death penalty and the jury would have had to been qualified for a death penalty case, i.e. jury members must agree they would return the verdict of death if they felt it was warranted.
