Beerfest

Movie (2006)

"Prepare for the ultimate chug of war."

During a trip to Germany to scatter their grandfather's ashes, German-American brothers Todd and Jan discover Beerfest, the secret Olympics of downing stout, and want to enter the contest to defend their family's beer-guzzling honor. Their Old Country cousins sneer at the Yanks' chances, prompting the siblings to return to America to prepare for a showdown the following year.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Fink is trying to explain the boot on the chalkboard at their training area, he circles the toes of the boot continuously leaving a pronounced circle. When they cut back to him talking, it is now just a single perfect circle.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When the college kid begins to explain the "strikeout" to Fink his hand is in his pocket, the very next angle of the scene his hand is suddenly on the counter top.
  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Todd plays in the final game because the Germans claim he has not participated in any of the events, which breaks the rules of Beerfest. However, he is seen (poorly) playing Beer Pong against the English team shortly after the competition begins. One possibility is that every team member must participate in every round.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): During the first of two final Das Boot competitions, the beer in the second Germans glass goes from a dark beer in one shot, to a pale ale in the next.
